Gushing Love

I’m having one of those days when I just love my kids.  Like could eat them up and stuff them back inside me so that they would always be with me kind of love, without the cannibalism, of course.

The twins have been extra cute and funny this week, blaming each other for everything and, when that doesn’t work, blaming Milo for everything.  I mean, how cute is it when I sniff the air and say, “Someone has stinky pants!  Is it you, Willa?” and she shakes her head “no” and says, “No.  Doo-liet.”  I say, “I just changed Juliet’s diaper, it’s not her,” and she chirps, “Mi-mo!  Mi-mo poot!”

And Juliet started tugging on my hand the other day, babbling something I was barely listening to until she screeched and yanked my hand.  I knelt down and, in a very annoyed voice, she said, “I poot in potty!  Now!”  So I took her to the bathroom where she eagerly sat on the little potty chair and tinkled.  She then told me, “Uh-oh.  Tin-tle.  No poot.”  Because, you know, she didn’t poop.

When did these babies get to be so big??  In less than a month they will be two-year-olds…  Insanity…

And then there’s Violet.  She’s been having a melodramatic week, so I fully expected her to be stuck to my leg during the flash mob rehearsal last night.  But she wasn’t.  She skipped eagerly to the front of the group so she could see what she was doing, especially since there were only two kids younger than her there, and followed along behind the choreographer without giving me a second glance.  Watching her dancing made me grin from ear to ear.  A huge grin because she was generally following along and doing a good job — difficult when half of the room is twice as old as you are and the other half of the room is 3-8 times older than you are.

Let’s not forget the Milo-man.  He tagged along to the flash mob rehearsal to listen to the music, but told me that if anyone asked, he was there because “there was nothing interesting to do at home.”  He played Minecraft on my phone and watched us dance out of the corner of his eyes.  When my mom asked Violet how she’d done, he piped up right away, “She was awesome!  She’s a great dancer!”

Imagine that — an unsolicited compliment!  And big brotherly pride all rolled into one!

Yep… I love these little people.  Every minute of their lives, every inch of their bodies, and every beat of their hearts.  Life is good…
